TRCK REVIEW: Gracenote x December Avenue x Autotelic
It’s Summer, as the name and the lyrics imply. Three of commercial music’s signed bands (Autotelic, December Avenue, and Gracenote) had recently worked together to create a song for the summer time. With a topic as simple and as widely covered as the summertime and a sizeable ensemble of musicians, one would be surprised to find out that they fail to make something note-worthy.
As “Summer Song” starts, we’re greeted to the first vocal appearance which was Gracenote. Eunice of Gracenote’s part in the intro has got to be, in my opinion, one of the laziest songwriting ever to be put on this recording recording. December Avenue was underwhelming, given that he is expected to be the most decent out of the three when it comes to singing.
The only highlight made in this track is the chorus sang by Josh of Autotelic, and not in an entirely good way. The chorus is close to being one of the most half-baked choruses I’ve heard so far. One can say it was kind of close to being acceptable, but this is for a corporate brand that makes you want to buy slushies and bathe under the burning heat. With “Summer Song” on the horizon for the next 2 months, this single song could put the momentum of summer on a terrifying standstill. We won’t be playing around the summer fun with one of the lamest summer tunes that has ever been created known to local music. I think i just got a nosebleed right after listening to this song.
