TRCK REVIEW: Munimuni - Tahanan

Rising 'makata-pop' band Munimuni have "rediscovered" their taste in poetry time and time again and they've tried to formulate their own interpretation of "beautiful poetry" when it comes to songwriting.

They've set themselves apart from the other run-on-the-mill folk singer-songwriters in the scene today. My deep appreciation of their music started since they released their debut EP titled "Simula" back in March of 2017. Fast forward to March of 2018, a year since they've released their masterfully crafted musical project, the band decides to release something.

Now, Munimuni isn't releasing an album yet but they decided to release a studio single titled "Tahanan". Munimuni have developed a keen sense of emotion that is ever present in their tracks. "Tahanan" is a single that steps back from previous EP's sappy and lighthearted tunes. They're now in the territory where they've finally taken a laid-back direction where they're currently are as musicians. "Tahanan" is simply about finding the partner that really loves you and in the end, you'll find yourself at home with the person you love. That's what everyone can write about these days, but no one can ever level up to the style that Munimuni has crafted in this comeback single of theirs. The layers of harmony are beautiful, the voices behind the mic are reminiscent the days when everyone of us have joined a choral. Munimuni have succeeded their previous release with stunning comeback single.
