THE SOBS X SUBSONIC EYE SHOW IS A MUST-GO!!~ ☁✨
The eclectic youngsters of Almost Crimes brings you an international double headliner treat that will leave you jumping around and hopping to the beat of not one but TWO of Singapore’s most sought-after independent bands today.
If you guys still don’t know what’s up on March 2, let us kindly pin down a ton of reasons why this show should not be missed by anyone:
The first headliner of the show is the beloved indie-pop outfit Sobs. And they are looking forward to entwining the delicate threads of their charming pop music all over the region. You can hear influences of Alvvays, Best Coast, and a bit of Chvrches in their stream of quick-hearted tracks. Their debut release “Catflap,” which was released last year under the Middle Class Cigars label, has caught the attention of many other independent publications like The 405, Indie Native, and Bandwagon. Delightful songwriting and stellar guitar play drive Sobs' music. Sobs are on tour with fellow labelmates Subsonic Eye, and they will be opening for international bands like Beach Fossils and Peach Pit in their South East Asian Tour.
Feeling like this isn’t enough? Sobs isn’t going alone, and they’re touring alongside Dream-Pop quintet Subsonic Eye, also presenting their nostalgic sound of love, youth, and self-doubt in their South East Asian tour. Made up of members that came from Asobi Seksu, Pasteboard, and Japanese Breakfast’s playbook, Subsonic Eye will be a worthwhile watch for those who wish to get lost in their wistful melodies.
Still, think that it’s not enough? Almost Crimes will also provide five (5) local acts to warm up everyone’s nights before Sobs and Subsonic are set to play. Those 5 acts are Bedroom-Pop darling Ruru, Garage punk antiheroes The Gory Orgies, noise rock foursome twentysomethings The Buildings, Lo-Fi/Dream-Pop trio Memory Drawers, alternative rock darlings Ourselves the Elves, and the much-awaited debut of indie-rock solo artist Mellow Fellow.
Don’t let us down cuz’ you’ll be missing out on a lot of that sweet strawberry feels if you do. Come down at Mow’s on March 2, Friday. Entrance Fee is 700 Pesos. You’ve got two international acts and five (5) local acts in the bill, and surely this will leave you mesmerized.
Almost Crimes are pushing the music scene forward by linking the independent scene to other international scenes. Building communities one at a time and eventually bringing forth a bridge that will connect and at the same time welcome other visiting bands who wish to present their music to a different audience.
