TRCK OF THE WEEK: Alisson Shore - Foolin

I have quite the photographic memory of me as a young 3nd grade student seeing Brandy, Ashanti, Ne-Yo and Usher on MTV as I steadily bop my head and back to the forth to their upbeat production and soulful vocal work. Rhythm and Blues has moved me ever since the days when the era of contemporary R&B took the world by storm. I always find in short supply of finding legitimate R&B artists in the country, more or less, I’ve mostly stumbled across Filipinos and Filipinas who cover a fair amount of R&B tracks in the West. I let most run-of-the-mill commercial R&B do their work as if something relevant would come out in their resume rath It makes me frustrated to think about it but there’s this one R&B artist who I discovered a year ago and I find it surprising that not only this guy covers R&B classics but he too covers local music, and produces original tracks under the name Alisson Shore.

Alisson Shore is a singer-songwriter and producer based somewhere in the South and he is currently representing the Pixel Collective (I am not sure if he is still affiliated with the group since I've heard that he is working solo, correct me if I am wrong) and he has released a brand new track titled “Foolin” under the weekly music series presented by the local record label, Pushtrak.

I am a huge fan of Alisson’s music ever since the collaborative track he did with US-based musician Hana ACBD titled “Closer”. He isn’t the type of artist that overdoes his tracks with an explosive production and an overly dramatic chorus but rather he simply puts it in a simplistic performance which most local R&B artists are missing nowadays. “Foolin” which is produced by Ash Wenzday of Pushtrack balances between smooth talking and respectable lyrics, in which his vocal style reminds me of the days when Ne-Yo released “So Sick” back in 2005, the time where I actually lived and breathed the sweet sounding music. “Foolin” not only serves as Alisson’s comeback single after a long long hiatus, it also becomes a reminder that R&B lives forever in my heart as a music enthusiast.
