TRCK REVIEW: Rusty Machines - What Went Wrong

Indie rock band and Wide Eyed Record darlings Rusty Machines just released their a track and music video titled What Went Wrong. Perhaps track will be their first single for their debut album (and we couldn't get anymore excited).

Listening to this track upon its release made me iffy for how it was structured. What Went Wrong's mixing was top notch and the performances were top class as Rusty Machines are the type of guys that kick the word "generic" in its face in this day and age of 'local indie music'. But the track suffered for how little less they followed up on how catchy their songs were a couple years back.

The chorus was already a verse that felt a little too tired when it's sung over; the instrumentation was built to be catchy and fun.

What Went Wrong treats itself as filler while RM are building to be one of the biggest alternative rock bands in the next decade. The rest of Rusty Machines' music becomes restless, feel good anthems but What Went Wrong is a part of something that could be forgotten in the next few months as a single. Hopefully, we'll get to more of their material as soon as their debut album drops soon. We can't wait for these guys to show what they have in store for their bright future.
