Mellow Fellow - Dance Review
TRCK OF THE WEEK: Mellow Fellow - Dance
Mellow Fellow is a solo project of Polo Reyes from the rock band The Benchwarmers. Mellow Fellow’s solo singles have been astonishing from the very beginning. He continues to stream out incredibly catchy songs back-to-back. The cozy, nostalgic sound that you hear from the dude’s tracks. His two-song split, Cannibal Holocaust, in the Babeslayer label was too short or wasn’t enough for us to consume that good material, so i veered onto his soundcloud account wanting to hear more.
His songs ooze charisma and that charisma led him to countless features in other year-ender lists and blogs. His collaboration with Clairo titled “How Was Your Day?” was one of my favorites of last year. The song was punchy, direct, and sweet. The chemistry of the two was awesome.
Mellow Fellow has no signs in stopping. His new track “Dancing”, is a heaven made track that sways around the cycle of consistent tracks that Polo is releasing from time to time. This didn’t only retain his likeability in terms of songwriting but his technical skills exceeded my expectations. The saxophone is a nice touch. “Dancing” is a good track, I have no other words to describe to how wholesome this track is from start to finish.
